Hiccups is the 11th episode of the first season of "Peppa Pig".
Synopsis[]
George gets the hiccups after he drinks his juice too fast, so Peppa tries to help get rid of them.
Summary[]
The Pig Family is busy eating breakfast when Peppa and George drink their juice, excited to go outside and play. George drinks his juice really fast like Peppa, despite Daddy Pig and Mummy Pig warning him not to do this. He starts to hiccup, which Peppa finds amusing.
Mummy decides that they shouldn't go out until he gets over his hiccups but later reconsiders after telling Peppa to keep an eye on him. Peppa and George play in the garden, but George has trouble because of his hiccups. Peppa tries twice to get rid of them, by telling George to rub his head, and his tummy, but George is still hiccuping, causing Peppa to think that he’s doing it all wrong. Then Peppa tried a different way for him, by telling him to hop on one leg three times, sticking out his tongue, while flapping his arms, and closing his eyes and spinning around three times, but it didn’t work either. Finally, Peppa knew one more thing to hear the hiccups. She is now gently warning George that she will try to scare them away. She covers her eyes and lets out a very loud snort, causing George to cry.
Mummy Pig joins them and scolds Peppa for being too rough with George, but Peppa claims she only did it to try to help him. It seems to have worked, and everyone cheers up.
Daddy Pig appears with some juice for everyone and they once again remind George not to drink too fast. He listens, but Peppa insists that because she isn't so little, she doesn't need to be as careful. This proves to be problematic, however, and she winds up giving herself hiccups. Everyone finds this amusing, except for her for the first few minutes, then they all laugh as the episode ends.

Trivia[]
- In the original airing of the episode, Peppa and George just rub the top of their heads and their tummies normally. In the 2011 airing, they tilt their heads to do so. That’s because the piggies’ short arms cannot reach their heads normally.
- This is the first episode if you go by Nick Jr. US episode numbers. However, the first episode to officially air on that channel was "Sleepover".
- This episode went viral when in the end of this episode, The Camera zooms in on Peppa. This is also happening in the pilot episode.
